The classes that I participated in at Nancy Wallace Pilates has increased my flexibility and taken my performance to another level.
I moved to Bellevue in February and was searching for a Pilates studio that has all the major equipment. This was a struggle. I was very happy to have found Nancy Wallace Pilates. My experience has been excellent. I also have been able to work out with many of the instructors. They have all had my well being in mind as we work through the program. Knowing that I cannot do (or do not like!) certain “poses” (like the Tree on the reformer!), they offer alternatives that provide the same stretch/workout but done in different ways.
I was impressed with these instructors as I had tendinitis knees and a tear in my shoulder. I wasn’t sure I was a candidate for this regime. They assured me that they could work around my issues and in 6 months the problems ceased I was skiing and playing golf better than ever. Now they have an incredible “stretch to win ” program that’s as good as a message.
I cannot express how happy I have been with my experience at Nancy Wallace Pilates. I started coming to Nancy Wallace Pilates in the winter of 2009 in preparation for a climb of Mt. Rainier. I had been having back issues and felt that the core strengthening exercises that Pilates demands would help me. I was lucky to connect with the owner, Nancy Wallace, who not only helped me overcome my back issues, but introduced me to a whole new form of exercise and conditioning. Having been involved in competitive athletics my entire life, my workouts have always been a way to not only stay in condition but also to push myself and compete with myself. Pilates, especially the way it is practiced at Nancy Wallace Pilates, is the perfect discipline for any athlete who wants to take their strength, conditioning, and flexibility to the next level.
I love this place. Like, seriously love it. As a former competitive athlete, I’m always looking for a challenging workout that isn’t going to bore me. After being to other Pilates studios, I really wasn’t interested… until my chiropractor told me it would help with my chronic back problems, and then pointed me to this place. These ladies are amazing. I do a private and a semi-private lesson each week and they really listen to how I’m feeling and what I want to achieve that day. Feeling tired and tight? No problem. Want something to make me really sweat and totally re-shape my backside? No problem. Back flaring up and causing me pain? No problem. Each instructor is super knowledgeable and will push you to your limits. I work out with Misty, but I’ve worked with at least 5 different instructors in the 2 years I have been going there; all top notch. And the reviewers are right about Nancy…you’ll get the workout of your life. Try a Kangoo class with her if you’re looking for something totally new and out of the box. You won’t be sorry!
I like the approach at Nancy Wallace Pilates – and I’m totally hooked. Great instructors focused on the classic disciplines and excellent form. They work you but you definitely get out what you put in. Nancy Wallace Pilates is now an integral part of my fitness program – the perfect complement to weight training and running/cardio. At 48, I’m in the best shape of my life – more muscle, 20 pounds lighter, faster, leaner, more flexible, better posture, more energy and no back pain. There are two ways to enter the Nancy Wallace Pilates studio:
A) Entering from 102nd Ave
- Park in the University Bookstore parking garage
- Go upstairs to the bookstore
- Our studio entrance in the back of building near the restroom sign, through the double doors
- If you are having difficulty locating us, please call, or ask the friendly employees of the bookstore, they know exactly where to find us. 🙂
B) Entering from NE 10th Street
- Park in the above ground lot behind the bookstore, our parking spots are marked ‘UBS’
- On the south side of the building, you will see the green Nancy Wallace Pilates awning over a doorway.
- Call us for the code to the door to gain access to the studio!
